I know everyone says it but I can't believe my baby girl started school. It hit me a lot harder than I'd expected. I was a wreck the week before, and started to cry as Josh and I left the school. I am really excited for her. She has a wonderful teacher Mrs. Bowles who is good friends with the Stotlers, and her school (Quailwood Elementary) is amazing. When I picked her up she said she couldn't wait to come back. Her school is full day which I wasn't sure about but absolutely love. Today she said a boy in her class got kicked in the leg so she sat next to him at lunch and told him that maybe when he gets home his mom could get him a cold rag to make it feel better. She also told me that a girl in her class kept playing with her hair because she like the curls while they were in lunch line. She asked her to stop but she wouldn't so she moved in line and didn't want to sit by her in case she kept playing with her hair while she tried to eat. I am so excited to hear about her everyday adventures. Here are some pictures of her 1st day. I will write the captions above the pictures.
This is her lunch that she decorated herself. It was covered in stickers on the back as well and they were falling off all over the place.

This was taken in front of Angela's house. Angela lives just 3 doors down from the school so we parked in her driveway and walked.
She was so excited she was running in front of us.Sophia's seat. Right now the kindergarten rooms are under construction so they are temporarily in a bungalow.
Me with my girl
Josh and Sophia

As we were headed home I saw someone walking with their kids and I said to Josh or there is a mom that walks to school I should meet up and we could walk together only to find out it was my mom taking Jack and Jonah for a walk. Check out Jonah.
He was just chillin and loving it.
Or was he?

I have been waiting for this! Sophia looked so cute and I can just imagine her saying those things to those kids in her cute little voice. She is just precious.
It is okay mom. You will be okay, I promise. (this is all said with my arms around you patting your back) Just give it a few weeks and you will find yourself in a whole new world!
Oh my gosh! She is sooo grown up I just can't believe it. It seems crazy. I just can't even come to terms that Brady may start Kinder next year! I want another baby. Anyway Sophia looks great and I am sure it is nice to only have two kids to run after for a few hours anyway.
I'm so glad you posted this!! I had been dying to hear how it was. What an exciting time of life! She is just so caring and I know you'll survive.
I would have been a total wreck too! All day?? I have no idea how I going to handle Gavin starting kindergarten. I'm so glad I have another year to prepare. I love her stories! What a sweetheart to comfort that boy.
I'm so glad you posted this. I was eager to hear about Sophia's first day. Sounds like she is doing great. She is so cute and I can identify with the girl who wanted to play with her hair. She does have the cutest hair in the world, so it is hard not to want to play with it.
School bells are ringing,
Off like a Spartan,
Sophia races to Kindergarten!
These are such precious pictures!
Love them. Sophia, you are beautiful!!!
Someday, Jack will have something to say about how he was dressed for the occasion. And, Jonah will no doubt have his own caption to go with his pictures.
I love 'em all and you too!
When I was a teacher I always thought it was funny to hear the stories kids told me about what happened at home. I always wondered about what they told their parents about what happened at school... Sounds like Sophia will have an adventurous year.. My oldest Matt starts Kindergarten on Monday too. When we went to meet his teacher last week, I got a little emotional. I am sure I will be a wreck on Monday too.
