Okay I know I should have updated sooner but whenever there is a free minute I choose to sleep, eat, shower, pick up, (you get the picture) over updating my blog. We've been pretty busy so I'm not going to play catch up, just highlight a few things. Starting with the birth of our beautiful baby boy Jonah Bryant Slade.
Jonah came early. About 2 and a half weeks early. I started spotting the Friday before he was born and then had that wonderful burst of energy. I didn't have all my supplies ready so over the weekend I cleaned, shopped, organized, and called my midwife to give her a heads up just in case. She came over to my house on Monday to check on me. I was 100% effaced and dilated to a 2. Which means nothing. Later that evening (I think it was around 10:30) I started to have contractions. Nothing bad or consistent so I thought nothing of it and Josh and I went to bed, but the contractions kept coming. I wasn't sure if I was in labor or not but finally decided to call my midwife. Josh started to get the bed ready while we waited for her to show up. I kept thinking it was going to be a false alarm and the contractions were going to stop any minute. When Linda showed up she checked me and I was dilated to a 5. She assured me it wasn't a false alarm so we called my best friends mom who is also a midwife and was going to catch the baby, and my sister Naomi and had her come over to stay with Jack in case he woke up. The birth went well and Jonah was born at 3am. One of my favorite things about home birth is the following morning when Sophia woke up and came into our room she was surprised to see a new brother in bed with mom and dad. We had a hard time coming up with a name. It was a toss between Cash and Jonah, Sophia's vote was for Rock n' Roll Cash Slade (which she still calls him), but we settled on Jonah and love it. He is wonderful and we are so happy he's a part of our family. We had lots of help from family members. Josh's brother Bryant his wife and girls along with Josh's mom came from AZ to visit just days after Jonah's birth. His mom stayed for two and a half weeks to take care of us. I was able to rest and not worry about a thing. We love and thank you Mom, and everyone else who helped us out.
A week after Jonah was born we celebrated Sophia's 5th birthday. She had a wonderful little party with her cousins Skyler and Sibley and her friend Madison. We are so thankful for Sophia. She has such a great personality and is a big help around the house.
For those of you that are still reading that's it for now. I'll try to continue to take pictures and stay up to date.

It is about time you busy mom! I love the pictures. It was wonderful to see all of you.
Thank you so much for posting...I just keep checking.....what a beautiful baby. In one of the picts the boys look like twins. We can't wait to meet Jonah. So how is it having 3????
We miss you and hope to see you in October.
I can't believe you have three kids now - woman you rock. We need to get Jack and Teague together soon for a playdate!
I've waited and waited for these pictures. Thank you for posting. I've been upset with myself every single day that I didn't take a hundred pics while I was there! Now maybe Grandpa will forgive me. I was pretty sure that you weren't posting because you never have the chance. Hopefully, Jonah will work into the family routine and you will have two minutes together here and there. I know it is so hard at first.
All of the pics are great. Love them! Such a pretty girl and such happy boys (and I agree they do look alike).
Sophia and Jack, Grandma misses you. Melissa, Josh and JONAH too.
Hugs and kisses. Gwen
You guys should have more babies- lots more, and if you can't have em, steal em.
I'm so happy you updated. I loved seeing the pictures of everyone. What a sweet new addition!
I was able to read this in AZ, but didn't have a chance to comment.
YEAHHHH!!! I'm so happy to see more pictures of all 3 of your kiddos.
Melissa, I can't even begin to imagine what 3 kids would be like. I'm just impressed that you were able to find the time to update befor the 6 month mark.
As usual everyone is looking so good.
Sophia you are one beautiful little lady. I love to see your smiling face. It makes my day!
Jack is SO handsome. I love the honey color of his hair! It's beautiful!
Oh and little Jonah. He is so handsome. I can't wait to meet him and hug and squeeze him. He does look like Jack, but not what I remember Jack looking like as a new baby.
I miss and love you all!!
Melissa,
I ran into Michelle Zamora at a baseball game and she told me she still keeps in touch with you.. Somehow WE LOST touch and I have been sad about that. I think about you often and glad to hear and see you are doing well. Congrats on your new baby boy. I would love to hear from you...
