The Nutcracker

Last Saturday my sister Michelle took Sophia to her first ballet, the Nutcracker. Sophia had so much fun. She got to go backstage and meet the sugar plum princess. She showed Sophia first position, and Sophia showed her and some of the other dancers her own ballet moves. Sophia has never had any lessons but doesn't often shy away from performing. When she got home it was late and she was tired but we still sat at the kitchen table and drank some hot apple cider while she told me all about the ballet. Thank you Michelle for taking her. She still has her program and loves to read through it.
If you're wondering why my tree only has ornaments on the top half that's so Jack can't get to them. Josh and Sophia surprised me when I got home from my annual Santa Monica shopping trip with Angela by decorating for Christmas. I left everything just the way they decorated. I didn't even pull out the tree skirt. Next year we'll be home for Christmas and I'll decorate. It was a wonderful surprise to come home to the tree. Sophia and Josh had fun spending time together decorating and singing Christmas songs. Thank you Josh and Sophia. Oh, and a big thank you to my wonderful husband for my much needed get away. I love you.
